Coldplay Finishing Up Their “Best Album?”

Coldplay manager, Dave Holmes, recently spoke to Billboard about the band’s upcoming album, and ominously hinted at some “different” things the band has in store for LP4’s Tour.
“We’re just about finished. They’re in the final mixing. They’ll start mastering, and away we go. I think it’s their best album. They’ve really delivered. It’s a fantastic record. They’ve really put the work in. [The album] definitely takes them in some different directions. I’m not a music critic, but it’s certainly a progression, with some really great songwriting.”
As for the tour, the band is working with lighting and set designer Paul Normandale on ‘ideas.’ Holmes said, “We’ve got a great plan in place. If we can pull this off it’s going to be quite different. We’re going to try something a little different in the arena space. The guys are really eager to get back on the road. They’re really looking forward to touring and getting back out there.”
LP4 still doesn’t have a title or an “official” tracklisting, though I’ve ventured a few guesses to fill in the gaps on their last ‘Prospekt’ post. Coldplay LP4 is produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs (who’s engineered and produced for Bjork and Arcade Fire, respectively). If it’s really their “best album,” I’m going to have to start mentally preparing for it now.
I <3 Coldplay. Sorry.
