Cyndi Lauper is fun. Period. And she is, like, all about gay rights.

The goal of The True Colors Tour (based off the title of Lauper’s best song to date) is to spread awareness for the struggle of GLBT rights, and raise money for organizations like Human Rights Campaign et al. Last year, the tour featured guests like Erasure, Debbie Harry, and the Dresden Dolls.

I went to this at the Borgata in Atlantic City last summer (my sister will even go to New Jersey for the Dresden Dolls). The show ended with a semi-corny group sing, but featured an awesome as always performance by Cyndi. You gotta love her. I got some gay rights bracelets, and a “True Colors Tour” poster. Good times. I digress.

This year, Cyndi is doing the True Colors thing once again, and has recruited the B-52’s, Joan Jett, Regina Spektor, and Tegan and Sara.
