UK To Get The Best of: Joy Division

thebestofjoydivision

Even though Interpol claims no influence by this band, it’s obvious that all modern new wave rock bands owe a little something to Joy Division. The Killers gave their nod with their cover of “Shadowplay” (though perpetually dull), and an endless list of bands from Bush to Nada Surf have paid tribute to the pioneers of “post-punk” rock music.

Unfortunately, it will only be getting a UK release on March 24th (via Warner), but is available as an import on Amazon (or you can do what I do, and order it from the UK site. It usually comes out a bit cheaper). I don’t download. No, that would be wrong.

The Best of’s second disc will feature interviews with Ian Curtis and Stephen Morris (drummer), as well as the band’s recordings from the John Peel radio sessions in 1979 and a couple of other live recordings.
