New Single By New Kids On The Block feat. Ne-Yo, umm.. “Single”

Yes, it’s true. New Kids on the Block are back together. Now that I’ve gone through most of the ‘New Kids on the Block are back together’ stages of emotion – which included confusion, surprise, acceptance, excitement, disappointment, and denial – I’ve now come full circle and find myself back at confusion.
While the first single, “Summertime,” seemed to have done it’s job (whatever that may be) and was quite honestly not a half bad pop song, it was still a late-30-something boy band from 20 years ago grinding up against 18 year old girls in their videos (Joey yells “Jones Beach, 1988″ in the beginning of the track and it’s just…uh).
The point is, this new single is just…it’s not good folks. it’s not good. Produced by Polow da Don and featuring Ne-Yo, I thought maybe it would be ok. It’s New Kids on the Block, and I thought maybe it would be ok. EDIT: The beat is boring and the melodies are weak. The truth is, it’s New Kids on the Block, and it’s not ok.
You be the judge.
Thank Fader for the freeload.

I ask the same question as Mashia6. Why do you not like the song? If you personally just don’t like it fine, but if the song is not good musically then explain.
I LOVE the song. It’s got a great beat, is up to date and I can dance to it. My husband even likes it and he is not a New Kids fan. He said he would definitely listen to it again.
It appears that for some people it doesn’t matter what they do. If it’s from New Kids they won’t like it. How sad. I say go guys, I can’t wait till November to see you live.

That’s exactly it. I say let the haters keep on hating. People are scared to admit that they actually find a New Kids on the Block song somewhat enjoyable. The true fans have always been there and will be continue to be there loving and supporting New Kids.
I personally think that if anyone else’s name from the past year or so were on the song, you and the rest of the haters would like it or at least recognize that it is a good song even if you don’t love it and appreciate the music. I agree with the others. It’s a shame that you would let their NAME prohibit you from their great music. I’m sick of people just saying they don’t like them or their music and saying it’s “just because” without legitimate reasoning. They son’t say anything because they can’t say anything. They don’t have anything bad to say about them. My guess is that most of them are jealous for whatever reason. It’s all jealousy and it’s sad.
I love New Kids and I love their music. Their new album, from what I’ve already heard, is going to be a big suprise for a lot of people. It’s very hot and current and very “today” in correlation to what’s on the radio and what people are listening to but at the same time it still has the swag of the New Kids. It’s great music that new and old fans a like will love. Even if people don’t jump on the train, appreciation of the music is what I believe is most important.
And for the record, “Summertime” and “Single” are HOt!!!

It’s Joe in the beginning that yells Jones Beach 1988.
It’s not ok, why? You never said why…you just kept saying it’s not ok. Usually when people don’t have a real reason it’s because they just don’t want to say something good about NKOTB. I personally love the song.
