So, I’ve been listening to El Guincho quite a bit lately (why wouldn’t I be?) and went clicking around his top friends on myspace. They were mostly other indie bands from Barcelona, none nearly as good as El Guincho. However, his number one was a band called Coconut, whose sole song on their myspace (aside from 11 tracks you can sample via snocap), “Conservad El Rayo,” has been on repeat in my earphones for the past 20 minutes.  I found that the reason for this is that El Guincho (aka: Pablo Díaz-Reixa) is also a member of Coconut. I knew this, apparently (see link below).

El Guincho’s debut album, Alegranza, will be released worldwide on October 13 (US on October 14). Check out the video for “Kalise” I posted up a bit ago. Windsurfing looks fun.
