Proton, a hip hop duo from Atlanta, Georgia dropped (heh, I said dropped) a new mixtape called Red & Blue Vol. 1, a 30 track collection including originals, remixes and personal favs (The Police’s “Roxanne” makes an appearance). Proton was recently featured on an Adult Swim hip hop compilation called Worldwide Renewal Program. Proton sort of sounds like a mix of Outkast and The Cool Kids (sometimes, more exactly than sort of), which…is all kinds of awesome.

The mixtape was posted up on 2dopeboyz (follow link to download), and since I’m almost a dope girl, I thought I’d share my favorite track, “Laptop.” Please hold out til the end to hear the Kraftwerk “Trans Europe Express” sample. Proton, you are officially effing cool.
