Sigur Ros is Too Good
I know it’s been said before by myself and others, but seriously…readers, friends, random googler passer-byers, Sigur Ros is too good. I am sitting here watching a repeat of the MOMA concert on Current TV (thank goodness for my downgraded cable package still including this channel. VH1 Classic, I miss you <3) and asking myself how it’s possible to be this fucking good. The band just finished up “Vid Spilum Endalaust” from their latest, Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust (translation: with a buzz in our ears we play endlessly), and through-out the performance, I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or do both. I’m still not over my live Sigur Ros experience and probably never will be. So this is as much as I can handle, and will handle for now. If you haven’t seen this, take a deep breathe and watch.
I mean…this is what angels sound like. This is what heaven would sound like. This is more than music for music’s sake. If every human emotion had it’s own song, it would be one by Sigur Ros. It would be sung in a made up language, because words are completely unnecessary.
And so I will shut up.
