SPIN.com’s #1 Video of 2008: Metric “Give Me Sympathy”
I’m not the biggest fan of Metric. After seeing them live and hearing pretty much everything they’ve done, I think I prefer Emily Haines’ solo stuff if anything. With that said, I can’t get this song out of my head.
SPIN.com posted up their 11 Top Videos of 2008. The list features an array of live performances and exclusive premiers, including Rivers Cuomo’s big fan jam session in L.A. and Duffy doing “Mercy” in a backyard in Brooklyn. The top spot went to SPIN’s exclusive of Metric’s unreleased track, “Give Me Sympathy,” which wasn’t even fully written when Emily Haines and guitarist Jimmy Shaw went to film this video. The track is set for a still untitled Metric album due in 2009.
