Songoftheday: “My Girls” by Animal Collective
I know this album leaked like forever ago (OK, a week ago), and live versions of this track have been floating around for a minute, BUT…I hadn’t yet taken the time to track down anything off of Animal Collective’s latest album Merriweather Post Pavilion, and was definitely going to wait for the digital release on the 20th. Today, the band threw up “My Girls” on to their Myspace, a dreamy indie track packed full of beautiful harmonies and melodies and twinkling electronics. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the band’s previous experimental psychedelic-noise-folk sound, but I feel like this album is going to open me up to releases past. I absolutely love this track.
