Yes, No Doubt are “back in the saddle,” and no, they don’t have any new songs. Bassist Tony Kanal says in the latest interview in SPIN that they are aware of this fact, but are not trying to be a nostalgia band. As someone who spent most of high school (and some college, not gonna lie) following this band around – a band that hasn’t released any new, original material in 9 years (which has resulted in some very subdued excitement for seeing them next week) – I’m slowly accepting the inevitable that, as of right now, No Doubt sort of is a nostalgia band.

Anyway, SPIN has posted up the photo shoot video (set to 1995’s “Escuse Me Mr,” completely not driving my previous point home), and the hardcore ND fans have already scanned all of the photos and transcribed the full cover story and interview from the issue.

In the end it doesn’t really matter. I still love to wash in your old bathwater, NxD.
