Blur Officially Back Together!!!! Perform in Essex
Is it real?
There’s a couple of things that blow me away about Blur’s reunion performance Saturday night in Essex. First, it’s Blur’s reunion performance…Saturday night. Graham Coxon and Damon Albarn even look at each other a couple of times and smile! It’s the first time the two have performed together since Coxon was kicked out of the band before 2003’s Think Tank. Second, they played 28 songs that night. 28. Twenty Eight! I struggle to think of many other bands with 28 songs worth playing live (though I’m sad to only see two from Think Tank on the list, but not very surprised).
Though NME has had “Blur Recording New Album!” headlines for the past four years, this maybe sort of finally confirms it. Just to reiterate, that’s a video from the blur show… Saturday night!!!! Like, this past Saturday.
