Shawn Chrystopher has been making the rounds on the hip hop blogs in recent months. His new mixtape, A City With No Reasons, caught my ear this morning while skimming his site. Chrystopher calls the release the “most artistic project of the year” (I love your big…ego). All of the tracks are co-produced by Chrystopher himself, and all worth a listen. Below is my favorite, the radio ready, untitled single that is sure to garner the young MC some more attention.

Interestingly, the album’s artwork is inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat, a New York City artist who is believed to have overdosed due to depression over Andy Warhol’s death.
