Dan Black “Symphonies” Feat. Kid Cudi MP3

French [via British] singer Dan Black’s 2009 breakthrough single, “Symphonies,” is from his Polydor debut solo album, ((un)). It very noticeably samples the drum intro from Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” and also pretty much encompasses the finest qualities of the best British pop music of the last 15 years into a perfectly wrapped 3 minute and 30 second package.

Black was formally the lead singer of French indie band, The Servant, whom is <3′d, and whom broke up in 2007 shortly after the release of their suitably titled sophomore album, How to Destroy a Relationship. ((un)) is set for a release in the US this spring, and will feature a handful of exclusive tracks, including this remix of “Symphonies” featuring Kid Cudi (ftw).

Black also has a handful of upcoming US tour dates, including a stop at LA’s Cinespace and NYC’s Mercury Lounge.

Yay @this.
