MGMT do “Brian Eno” on David Letterman, Still Bizarre
The live television performances of MGMT’s Congratulations tracks are steadily improving, but the crowd still hesitates to applaud at the end of “Brian Eno”, above, and Letterman’s sign-off couldn’t have been more awkward if it were preceded by Andrew VanWyngarden breaking a tiny guitar against his amp and then getting it stuck on his cape (CAPE) while trying to hit a gong at the end of the song. Oh, nevermind. Oh, MGMT.
The band also did an hour set for Letterman’s new web only series. Sans capes.
