Kid Cudi’s Converse Mini-Documentary (’3 Artists,1 Song’ Project)
Converse is doing that whole Santigold, Pharrell, Julian Casablancas thing again (’3 Artists, 1 Song’ as they are now calling it). This time around they’ve recruited Kid Cudi, Bethany Cosentino (Best Coast), and Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend), and are offering up mini-documentaries about each artist’s inspiration, experiences, etc. Above, they follow Cudi back to Cleveland as he tells the story of the first time he ever rapped on a recording. They’ve previously released a similar mini-doc with Bethany Cosentino (below) – basically an ode to SoCal. I suppose Rostam’s is coming soon.
Make no mistake – this is about selling sneakers. But, the song was pretty decent last time around. The original Cudi/Bethany/Rostam track is due in July.
