Songoftheday: “Salt and Sea” by Lazerbeak
Lazerbeak has spent the past few years as a hip hop producer for Minneapolis based label/crew, Doomtree, making beats for labelmates like P.O.S. and Dessa (as well as other up and comers, including Wale). None of this back-story really matters, though, when having a first listen to his upcoming solo project, Legend Recognize Legend. Sounding like an experimental collaboration between Mick Jones and Greg Dulli, Lazerbeak’s first single, “Salt and Sea”, is most definitely worth a listen. Or Seven.
Legend Recognize Legend is due September 28.
