As a huge fan of Kate Nash’s Made of Bricks, when I first heard “I Just Love You More” from her upcoming sophomore album, My Best Friend Is You, I had questioned exactly where she was going with this new record. Even Karen O doesn’t squeal like that! However, after hearing the first official single, “Do Wah Doo,” and watching the colorful, Kate Nashified new video, I’m feeling much better about it. I’m also pretty confident I’ll come to love the squealing.

My Best Friend Is You is due April 19 in the UK.

“Suburban Dogs,” a lovely, mellowed out track from Real Estate’s lovely, mellowed out self-titled release, got a video premiere today on P4K TV full of ugly Christmas sweaters and some ‘beautiful spiral ham ova’ here.’ Had some trouble getting into the Jersey band’s 2009 debut (oddly, must not have been feeling very chillfuzzed that day), but this has earned it a few more plays.

Along with real estate offices, Real Estate are also playing every show at SXSW.

Above, Kid Cudi’s second, alternate clip for Man on the Moon highlight, “Pursuit of Happiness.” This time, Ratatat and MGMT members actually make an appearance. This is much better/more appropriate than the previous Josh Hartnett directed poppin’ bottles vid.

Lil Wayne heads to jail on Monday, kids, but first he made 678 videos to last the year (or 8 months for good behavior). Before those start trickling in, Weezy decided to release a video for “Drop the World,” a tough single choice considering all those curses, but the above clip with Eminem is a good visual aid for the best track (by far) on Rebirth.

Not sure if Estelle’s new single, “Freak,” can do nearly as much damage in the US as Shine’s “American Boy,” but here’s hoping. No surprise that the Black Eyed Peas-ish drenched track was produced by David Guetta, and almost sounds like a remix of “Rock That Body” with a verse by Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall and a Soul II Soul sample thrown in for good measure. This is a hot, hot, hothot HOT dance track. Hot.

Estelle’s new record, All of Me, is due sometime later this year. No release date = boo.

A few days ago, Drake told GQ that Kanye’s upcoming album, Good Ass Job, is going to be the best hip hop album of the last 10 years. Lots of thoughts on this, but mostly…it must mean that it’s almost finished. With that said, I’m a bit surprised that Kanye would release a single from 2008’s 808s & Heartbreak at this point. Much like the song, the clip for [a remixed] “Coldest Winter” (based on Tears for Fears’ “Memories Fade”) is beautiful, and kind of sad.

Directed by Nabil Elderkin, who also did “Paranoid” and “Welcome to Heartbreak,” the video does not star Kanye. (Nah Right)

In the new Vampire Weekend video for Contra’s “Giving Up the Gun” (which you may already know as yet another stellar VW track), RZA, Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Lil Jon are part of a dream-like tennis match that involves Gyllenhaal ripping off a pair of breakaways and Joe Jonas being in a Vampire Weekend video. It’s all a little hard to understand, but it’s fun none-the-less.

Liars’ 5th LP, Sisterworld, is going to be prettyinteresting/veryawesome if the rest of it is anything like the first single, “Scissors.” The video for the track premiered today on Wired’s Underwire, and it’s the kind of f*cked we’ve come to expect from the NYC band. Watch Liars get attacked by rocks, above. It’s cool.

Sisterworld is due March 9, and will also be available as an ‘expanded version’ with reinterpretations of tracks by Devendra Banhart, Tunde Adebimpe, and Thom Yorke (who’s not even taking Peter Gabriel’s calls, people!).
