Berkeley’s The Morning Benders are gearing up for the release of their album, Big Echo, on March 9 via Rough Trade. Last Friday, the band gave away their lovely single, “Excuses,” for the price of an email address on their website, where you can also stream the abundantly Grizzly Bear’d track “Promises” (the album is not surprisingly produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear).

Morning Benders kick off a North American headlining trek on Friday that will come full circle with two NYC dates on each end (dates below). My Poproks hears they put on an amazing live show, and plans to see you March 25 @ Troubadour.

Major Lazer [most likely] planned some tour dates for the spring to fill in their schedule between Miami’s Ultra Music Fest in late March and Coachella in mid April. The Diplo+Switch trek includes stops across the US and will feature the latest Mad Decent signee, Rusko (who produced the new tripped-out M.I.A. track, “Space Odyssey (Theres Space For Ol Dat I see)”).

Following his exit [removal] from Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour, Kid Cudi announced a separate set of tour dates for the coming weeks (below). As I exited the Cudi-less Monster Ball last night at Nokia Theater, I was handed a flyer for his two Club Nokia dates tonight and tomorrow. With my 8:55pm flight to NYC for the holidays (I should be packing right now), I’ve managed to miss him by just under 17 hours. I’ll also be back in LA before his Irving Plaza show in New York. Ugh, white people problems!

After promising a friend and Lady Gaga worshipper that she would tour this fall with or without Kanye, and feeling partially responsible for his actions as a constant defender of his doucheness (thanks for embarrassing me again, fishsticks), I am relieved to hear the news that Gaga will in fact hit the road on the “Monster Ball Tour” in support of her Fame re-release, The Fame Monster. With 8 new tracks on the second disc, the show is sure to feature lots of new material, as well as hangings and bloody eyeballs.

Monster Ball kicks off next month in Montreal and ends with two shows at NYC’s Radio City (notice the decrease in venue size from the Fame Kills dates?). Mr. Solo Dolo Kid Cudi will be the supporting act, and oh, there goes $60 from my bank account. Bye.

Pixies have officially announced UK & US tour dates for the fall/winter to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of their classic 1989 record, Doolittle. The band will perform the album in its entirety, as well as Doolittle b-sides, and, according to Rolling Stone, “Doolittle-related surprises.” As I would say if this were Facebook, “I want to go.”

The Royal Arctic Monkeys of England are set to release their new single, “Crying Lightning” tomorrow (it’s already tomorrow in the UK, so, ‘right now’) via their official store. The worst part about the whole thing, as always, is that it is excellent. Their upcoming third LP, Humbug, is due August 24, and will surely also be excellent.
