Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) ‘Submarine’ Soundtrack Stream
Leaky Submarine?! Ha. Get it? Cause it’s a leak. And a subma… So, Alex Turner’s solo debut (the soundtrack for the British film, Submarine) is on Youtube. I can’t promise it will still be there in the morning. A couple of very good, mildly non-Arctic Monkey like tunes within the streams, below. (24B via WAWS)

Arctic Monkeys “Brick by Brick” Song (?) /Video (!)
Arctic Monkeys posted up new song/video, “Brick by Brick”, this morning on their site. And while I’m sure it will be no stranger to the UK charts or radio play, I’m not [maybe yet] crazy about it. The video (starring a spinning record and a beautiful sunset), on the other hand, is pretty great. A [...]

Arctic Monkeys “My Propeller” Video, New Tracks Out Tomorrow
“My Propeller,” one of the highlights of Arctic Monkeys mostly eh [actually very good] third album, Humbug, gets a new video that matches its somewhat dark, psychedelic feel. The “My Propeller” single is due out tomorrow on Domino, and features recordings of 3 new tracks; “Joining The Dots,” “The Afternoon’s Hat,” and “Don’t Forget Whose [...]

Arctic Monkeys “Potion Approaching” and Nick Cave Cover Live from Web Transmission
I spent a lot of time trying not to like the Arctic Monkeys (back in their “Best British Album Ever” days, and also a week ago). While I still hold unwarranted grudges against the debut, their sophomore release was a slap in the face for wasting my time. Given the few songs we’ve heard so [...]

Arctic Monkeys “Crying Lightning” MP3
The Royal Arctic Monkeys of England are set to release their new single, “Crying Lightning” (via IGIF) tomorrow via their official store. The worst part about the whole thing, as always, is that it is excellent. Their upcoming third LP, Humbug. “Crying Lightning” by Arctic Monkeys

Arctic Monkeys Humbug Promo US Tour Dates
Arctic Monkeys third full length, Humbug (due August 24 in the UK), is sure to get a Mercury Prize nominee, a couple of BRITs, and at least 9 NME Shockwave Awards. I <3 hype, but I especially love it when the hype is justified. While LPs 1 and 2 have sorta kinda measured up, nothing [...]

Arctic Monkeys Report From Studio, Throw Crocs
If you had to ask yourself if My Poproks would post the new video of Arctic Monkeys drummer, Matt Helders, throwing his Crocs onto a roof, you obviously don’t know My Poproks at all. Other highlights of this recording update from the band that is bigger than Jesus (yes, I’m trying to break the record [...]

Arctic Monkeys Win 8 Billion NME Shockwave Awards
I’m exaggerating. Barely. Last night’s NME Shockwave Awards were hardly shocking. The big winners of the night were Arctic Monkeys, Arctic Monkeys, and uhh…Arctic Monkeys. One shocking award was the Best Solo Artist, which went to quirky singer-songwriter Kate Nash (who was so sure Amy Winehouse would win, she didn’t even write a speech). All [...]
