Beirut visited Letterman Friday night to play The Rip Tide’s “East Harlem”. Nothin’ but good.

The Rip Tide is technically Beirut’s 3rd full length, but, if you count EPs (which mostly have 5 or more tracks on them), this is Zach Condon and band’s 7th release since 2006. Feels like it’s been a Best-of-the-2000’s since there’s been some Beirut music to blog about. The new single, “East Harlem”, has, according to 24B, actually been a staple in the band’s live show for a couple of years. Not one of my favorite tracks from March of the Zapotec/Holland, which still speaks volumes for the devistatingly beautiful “Concubine.” Beirut (Zach Condon, Banda Jimenez, gorgeousness) is also randomly offering up The Flying Cup’s “Sunday Smile” as a free download on their site.
