Bon Iver “Calgary” Official Video

If you’ve spent the last week listening to the new Bon Iver on a loop, or like your music videos to be symbolic and emotional, you should enjoy this. “Calgary” official video, above. MP3, still free. Bon Iver’s loop-worthy, self-titled sophomore is due June 21.

Bon Iver ‘Bon Iver’ Full Album Stream

Bon Iver’s sophomore album, though leaked several weeks ago (not that I would know anything about that), is now up for official, approved listening via NPR. The record is easily among the year’s best (man, best), with lead-off track, “Perth”, serving as Vernon and Co.’s most instantly impactful track to date. Bon Iver is due [...]

Bon Iver “Calgary” Free Download

According to Jagjaguwar (Bon Iver’s label), his brand new single “Calgary” is trending worldwide on Twitter. The track is the first proper Bon Iver release since 2009′s Blood Bank EP, and the first since he’s been on 9 Kanye songs. Stream/download the painfully wonderful tune below. Bon Iver’s self-titled sophomore LP is due June 21.

Kanye West at Coachella 2011 (Full Set)

I wasn’t actually at Coachella, and I was only able to catch a handful of sets from the live stream over the weekend (the Coachella Youtube page is slowly uploading clips from the feed), but I can’t imagine that there was a better performance at the festival (maybe ever?) than Kanye West’s 2 hour assault [...]

G.O.O.D. Friday: Kanye West “Monster” Feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver & Nicki Minaj

1 down… “Monster” by Kanye West feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver & Nicki Minaj

S. Carey (Bon Iver) All We Grow Full Album Stream

Forgive me, internet, for just now finding this stream of S. Carey’s debut album, All We Grow. The Bon Iver drummer was recruited for Justin Vernon’s live band after the release of For Emma, Forever Ago in 2008, and has since been working on his own music during breaks. All We Grow is very Vernon [...]

My Poproks Best Songs of 2009: The Playlist

As I skimmed through my iTunes and posts from the year, I realized very quickly that putting together a 40 track playlist to represent the best songs of 2009 was going to be impossible. And, according to Jay-Z, impossible takes a week. I don’t have that kind of time! So here’s My Poproks 49 Best [...]

Album Review: Volcano Choir Unmap

8 Damn. Volcano Choir’s Unmap is more a listening experience than a pop record. Justin Vernon and Collections of Colonies of Bees’ odd and unexpected collaboration comes at the height of Bon Iver’s success (shortly before the band announced an indefinite hiatus), and is a complete change of direction from the melodic, acoustic ballads of [...]

Bon Iver & St. Vincent “Roslyn” (New Moon Soundtrack)

The New Moon Soundtrack is leaking all over the internet, and not only is it smelling like one of my favorite albums of the year, but it’s likely the best soundtrack to come out since…that other soundtrack with incredible exclusive tracks by Grizzly Bear and Bon Iver and Thom Yorke. You know, the soundtrack for [...]

Best of 2008: Lykke Li “Dance Dance Dance” Feat. Bon Iver

I’ve already recapped re: the Bon Iver-ish half of this Lykke Li/Bon Iver video that made the rounds in 2008 on the indie blogs (and most likely RS’ Rock Daily). “Dance Dance Dance,” my favorite Lykke Li track from her lovely debut, Youth Novels (and one of my favorite songs of the year) is featured [...]
