CANT (Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear) ‘Dreams Come True’ Album Stream
The more the internet’s heard of Chris Taylor’s solo debut as CANT, the less it’s sounded like Grizzly Bear. This is good thing, because it still sounds great. The album, Dreams Come True, is due September 13 via his own Terrible (not terrible) Records, and is streaming below. (P4K)

CANT (Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear) “Answer” Stream
Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear’s solo project has evolved since the first single, “Ghosts”, hit the internet in 2009. Almost unrecognizable as a Grizzly Bear side project, “Answer” gets some kind of Kid A on, below. Chris’ solo debut as CANT (initials?), Dreams Come True, is due September 12 on Warp.

New Grizzly Bear in a Washington State Lotto Commercial?
Yes.
Above, you can hear a one minute clip of an unknown new Grizzly Bear song in a Washington State Lottery commercial. The commercial is directed by Patrick Daughters (Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks”), and was choreographed by Michael Rooney (Bjork’s “It’s. Oh. So Quiet,” the (500) Days of Summer Hall & Oates dance sequence, other amazingly [...]

Arcade Fire NFL Super Bowl Ad, Punching to Grizzly Bear
Super Bowl XLIV was totally indie. Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” was in an official NFL spot, with all of the licensing proceeds going to Partners in Health. I spent Super Bowl Sunday at Disneyland (Mickey > Football), but that commercial is pretty awesome. Almost makes me want to watch football. Almost.
You can check [...]

My Poproks Best Songs of 2009: The Playlist
As I skimmed through my iTunes and posts from the year, I realized very quickly that putting together a 40 track playlist to represent the best songs of 2009 was going to be impossible. And, according to Jay-Z, impossible takes a week. I don’t have that kind of time! So here’s My Poproks 49 Best [...]

My Poproks Top 10 Albums of 2009
Hey, 2009. I’d like to thank you for wrapping up what has been the best decade for music, and I’ll argue this til the day I’m convinced that the next decade is the best. What I’m trying to say is, it keeps getting better. And, technically, doesn’t the decade end after 2010? Uber confusing. But [...]

Show Review: Grizzly Bear & Beach House at Hollywood Palladium
“I don’t know how to talk about music,” admitted lead singer Victoria Legrande halfway through Beach House’s set at The Hollywood Palladium last night. Even though her between song stage banter could have been slightly more articulated (it was still pretty amusing), Legrande instead spoke to the audience through her band’s ever-alluring, [...]

Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor Releases Solo Debut Track, “Ghosts”
Grizzly Bear bassist/producer Chris Taylor (CANT) released his debut solo single, “Ghosts,” today on his own label, Terrible Records. Taylor’s lullaby ready voice, better known as a back-up, makes for a very engaging lead. Musically, it would be impossible not to draw comparisons to Grizzly Bear, especially the washed out production style (Taylor produced the [...]
