Like all of us, Okkervil River’s Will Sheff was young once. See proof in the video for I Am Very Far highlight, “Your Life as a Blast”, featuring home footage from Sheff’s father’s personal collection. Family vacations and E.T. t-shirts > (P&P)
Or 1/2 2011, depending on if phrasing/math/logic is important to you. This list is somewhat in order, but it’s not really in order. Also, #1 is definitely in order. Some favorites missing here work better in album mode (or came out in 2010, e.g.: Smith Westerns), and will see you later on the Best Albums [...]

Okkervil River combine the ‘lyric video’ and the ‘performance video’ concepts in the official clip for 2011 Q1 highlight, “Wake and Be Fine” (via the NPR premiere). I Am Very Far is due May 10 on Jagjaguwar.
Man, heart this one. “Wake and Be Fine”, the track Okkervil River debuted on Jimmy Fallon in January, is now an mp3 and available via the widget below for email dollars. I Am Very Far is due May 10 via Jagjaguwar. (P4K)
Austin’s Okkervil River premiered the superb (say it again, superb) new song, “Wake & Be Fine”, with The Roots and New Pornographers’ A.C. Newman last night on Jimmy Fallon (above via TAP). The band’s 6th LP, I Am Very Far, is due May 10 on Jagjaguwar. I’m going to play this video again now.
Above is the latest single and video from Austin’s Okkervil River. “Lost Coastlines” comes from the band’s 5th album, The Stand Ins. I am always a fan of TV heads. Always.
