s / s / s (Sufjan Stevens, Son Lux and Serengeti) “Museum Day”
s / s / s (which stands for Sufjan Stevens, Son Lux(!) and rapper Serengeti) plays like an auto-tuned, avant garde hip hop remix of a deep Age of Adz cut. Needless to say you have to hear it and then grab the Beak & Claw EP March 20 on Anticon.

My Poproks 21 Best Albums of 2010
After 4 years of doing year end Top 10 Album lists, I’ve finally realized how insufficient it is in accurately showcasing my favorites from the year. it’s been a pleasure not having to slim my list down to only 10 records, because that is dumb. 21 seemed like a nice round number that complimented the [...]

Sufjan Stevens “Too Much” (Too Much) on Jimmy Fallon
I’ll admit that I could do without the dance moves when Sufjan is in his ‘neon indian’ costume (because they’re terrible and because they’re intentionally terrible), but kudos for putting on the weirdest possible performance for his Late Night television debut. “Too Much” via 2010 Top 10 contender, Age of Adz. Sufjan Stevens The Age of Adz Full Album Stream, Plenty Sufjany
The title of Sufjan Stevens’ first LP since 2005′s Best of the Decade-ish Illinois does not reflect the name of any of the 50 States. I think we can all agree that we don’t care anymore. Even though The Age of Adz is being billed as an “electronic” record of sorts, and the always overwhelmingly [...]

Sufjan Stevens “I Walked” From The Age of Adz
If you were not expecting 2 new releases from Sufjan Stevens this year, you are not alone. While the first had a very Sufjan state-album era folk vibe, his upcoming full length, The Age of Adz, has a “deliberately electronic” disclaimer. “I Walked” is the first incredibly delicious taste of the record, due October 12. [...]

Sufjan Stevens “The Owl and the Tanager”
2010 got a proverbial smack in the face this morning with Sufjan Stevens‘ All the Delighted People EP, which is, according to Sufjan, an ‘homage to the Apocalypse, existential ennui, and Paul Simon’s “Sounds of Silence.”’ Wow, actually…yeah. That especially sums up the EP’s 5th track, “The Owl and the Tanager”, which I feel ill-equipped [...]

The National Do “Afraid of Everyone” With Sufjan Stevens on David Letterman
Sufjan Stevens (hello new album?), who offered backup vocals to The National’s “Afraid of Everyone” (and joined the band yesterday at their temporary High Violet Annex in NYC), performed the track with The National on Letterman last night. It was almost unmanageable. Full review of this album coming when I can form the words.

My Poproks 60 Best Songs of the 2000s
The first draft of this post, titled “My Poproks Best Songs Since 2000,” is from this past March. 8 months, 1,000 edits, and 3,000 miles later, it officially exits the abyss of blogFAIL that is My Poproks “drafts” section. Making lists is hard! I will never complain about another ‘Blank Songs of Blank’ list ever [...]
