2010 got a proverbial smack in the face this morning with Sufjan Stevens‘ All the Delighted People EP, which is, according to Sufjan, an ‘homage to the Apocalypse, existential ennui, and Paul Simon’s “Sounds of Silence.”’ Wow, actually…yeah. Sufjan Stevens (hello new album?), who offered backup vocals to The National’s “Afraid of Everyone” (and joined the band yesterday at their temporary High Violet Annex in NYC), performed the track with The National on Letterman last night. It was almost unmanageable.
