The Morning Benders “Oh Annie” Annie Hall Song
The Morning Benders Soundcloud account has been a very busy Soundcloud account (the band recently uploaded a ton of covers and a Britney Spears remix). Lead singer, @ChrisChu, tweeted yesterday about a song called “Oh Annie”: “My only regret with ‘Big Echo’ is that this song wasn’t on it.” The track is included in the [...]

The Morning Benders “Til the World Ends” (Britney Spears Cover/Remix)
In addition to posting nearly a dozen ‘bedroom covers’ on their Soundcloud a few hours ago, The Morning Benders also threw up a remix/cover (more of a remix) of Britney Spears’ “Til the World Ends” (pointed out by PMA) from her latest mostly awesome album, Femme Fatale. I was also promised a “California Gurls” cover, [...]

Ra Ra Riot “Too Dramatic (The Morning Benders Remix)”
It’s fair to say that Ra Ra Riot had a little trouble matching the irresistible charm of their debut LP with last year’s The Orchard. It’s also fair to say that The Morning Benders may have produced a remix of album highlight, “Too Dramatic”, that’s better than the original. Yes? (Stereogum premiere)

My Poproks Best Songs of 2010: The Playlist
The only way to get this year’s playlist up later than I did last year was to do it on NYE. Luckily, I kept a running list through-out 2010 that ended up with about 100 songs on it (too many!), and had to ax a lot of favorites. So, if the below 60 song playlist [...]

My Poproks Top 21 Albums of 2010
After 4 years of doing year end Top 10 Album lists, I’ve finally realized how insufficient it is in accurately showcasing my favorites from the year. it’s been a pleasure not having to slim my list down to only 10 records, because that is dumb. 21 seemed like a nice round number that complimented the [...]

The Morning Benders “All Day Day Light” & Interview on Last Call
The Morning Benders are pop music with a twist of lemon. Nice. Above, the Berkeley band visit Carson Daly’s Last Call for a short interview and a performance of Big Echo’s “All Day Day Light”, likely from their most recent stop at LA’s Music Box on October 14.

The Morning Benders Debut “Virgins” For La Blogotheque
In the above teaser for Blogotheque’s latest ‘Soirees De Poche’ (coming to the site in October), The Morning Benders debut beautiful new song, “Virgins”, in an incredibly intimate acoustic setting that is likely someone’s living room. Chris Chu points out that they’ve never played it live before, making it all the more perfect. (@YT)
