The Walkmen “Heaven” Stream
It seems The Walkmen have recently entered the cool dad rock category in that they make cool dad rock and are actually cool dads now. “I just had a daughter a year ago, and the other guys’ kids are all very young. It feels like we’ve gotten to a point where things are a little [...]

The Walkmen “While I Shovel the Snow” Snow Video
“All at once the winter’s here.” I can feel it all the way from SoCal. This was the video for The Walkmen’s “While I Shovel the Snow” before the video even existed. I never went to Empire Fulton Ferry State Park during the winter, but if I had to be in New York for another [...]

The Walkmen Lisbon Full Album Stream
The Walkmen’s latest LP, Lisbon, sounds very much like what I imagine the rainy season in a Portuguese city to sound like. The You & Me follow-up is streaming below, via NPR, until its September 14 release.

Lisbon is due September 14.

The Walkmen New Track “Stranded” From Lisbon
The first taste of The Walkmen’s upcoming album, Lisbon (due September 14), doesn’t stray far from the sounds on their Best of 08 You & Me. In fact, the song could easily serve as a bonus track for that album. Hamilton Leithauser acknowledges this in the band’s write-up for the NPR premiere, explaining that the [...]

The Walkmen “On the Water” Official(ly) Morbid Animated Video
Any excuse to blog about this record is so very welcomed. Nir Ben Jacob directed video for The Walkmen’s “On the Water” totally doesn’t have a happy ending. At all. Since I’ve spoiled that, I can say that the gunshot of bright confetti over the dark blues and blacks of this tragic animated clip, synchronized [...]
